Flaneur Wines' Flânerie Vineyard Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard wine from the Ribbon Ridge Estate, known for its bold, spicy, dark red fruit character and savory notes. The 2021 vintage offers a bouquet of cranberry, blood orange, strawberry, and marzipan, with earthy undertones of sarsaparilla root and birch wood. On the palate, it showcases a supple texture, balanced tannins, vibrant acidity, and fresh fruit flavors of orange, cranberry, and wild Oregon bramble. The wine is aged in 24% new oak, enhancing its complexity with hints of cinnamon, plum, cedar, and black tea. This vintage is marked by its finesse and long aging potential, with a delightful, lengthy finish. The wine is produced from the Flânerie Vineyard, established in 2003, which sits at 250’-350’ elevation in the Ribbon Ridge AVA. Dry-farmed with organic practices, the site’s sedimentary soils and east-to-west row orientation contribute to the wine’s structure, acidity, and age-worthiness. It was bottled in February 2023 with 608 cases produced. Rated 94 points by James Suckling, this Pinot Noir is expected to develop further with age.
